Claim PPI for Loan and Credit Card, same company.

Hi all,

If I want to claim for missold PPI for a loan and I also have a credit card with the same bank, do I pursue some kind of a joint claim?

I believe that it was missold in both cases.

    Hi Pete,
If the reasons for mis sale are the same for both you could fill in one questionnaire and put both account numbers on, but I would go the safer route and do a questionnaire for each and it's up to you whether to put them in the same envelope or send them separately. Banks have a bad habit of losing mail once they receive it.
Keep copies of everything for your own records in case you have to go to the FOS at a later date, also keep a diary of dates. Post them recorded delivery, good luck ;)

No need. Proof of posting (free from the Post Office) will be accepted as adequate evidence by FOS. By contrast Royal Mail does not always get a signature for RD (more often than not in my experience) so you may find they then have evidence that it was NOT delivered.

Why do you think the cover was missold, though?

    Thanks for replies.

I believe the loan was missold because the application was online & there was then, no discussion about the cover. Also, my employment pays whilst off ill for 12 months and for redundancy, so it wasn't even needed.
The credit card is a lot older, but the same employment conditions apply. ie really, PPI was not needed.

I've heard that people are now phoning our bank and the bank will look into it for you and actually tell you if there is a valid claim....I find this a little strange though and would probably prefer to claim myself with a form.
