Hello.
Hope someone can answer me a simple question on warranty matter.
I've started a new mobile phone contract 6 months ago.
Found a good deal (for me
) with a free TV as "a gift" on buymobilephones.net. Just one thing I was worried about - what it TV developes a fault? But thought "C'mon think positive! Nothing will happen."
S^&$... I was wrong
TV developed a fault. Works fine but if I want change input/source I need to unplug it and plug again and source option works until first turn off. Then the same thing again.
Anyway.
Emailed BMP.net about the fault and they answered to contact Toshiba.
I know that contract is with retailer but can I treat BMP.net as a retailer if that was a "free" gift?
Shall I bother to push them to repair TV for me or shall I call Toshiba helpline (I have no receipt of purchase:think:).
Please help!!
Thanks
Igor

Even though the TV was a freebie, it would still be part of the contract, hence it still needs to be fit for purpose and have a reasonable life. (the easiest way to look at it is although you didn't pay for the TV, what would BMP have said if you decided that you didn't want the mobile phone so you returned it, but failed to return the TV?).
Although it is the retailer that your contract is with, it may well be quicker and easier to contact Toshiba and see what they say.
If they won't do anything, then you should push BMP for them to arrange a repair or exchange.0 -
The company seems pretty rubbish/unreliable, so to be honest I'd steer well clear of it.
However, should you receive the tv, everything shaun says applies.0 -

Thanks for reply!
Will contact Toshiba tomorrow and will see what they say. Good to know though it's BMP responsibility for it to be fit for purpose...

Have there been issues with them B4?
I read some reviews of the retailer and it seems that if youre just buying a phone, they're fine. If youre trying to claim a free gift, then you're on your own.0
