£60 charge for switching gas and elec?
Can anyone advise how I go about not paying BG a £60 cancellation fee for switching to First utility? On the phone BG said I had entered into an agreement. When I asked where I had signed, they backtracked to say, okay, over the phone, a verbal agreement.....
Any advise please? Thanks.:cool: My cooling off period with First Utility has come to an end, so unless someone can help, will I have to pay the £60.00?
thanks

What BG tariff are you on, and when did you commence it?
Many tariffs, except Standard, have minimum contract terms, usually about one year, so if you are on such a tariff, you have accepted the terms and will have to pay the ETC. No signature or paperwork is necessary to form a binding contract.
First Utility-are you sure about that? Lots of very negative views about their CS on this board. No free lunch, and no free laptop
