Grout Dissolver/Drain Unblocker?

Hi,
Can anyone help?
Two weeks ago, Mr Frizz regrouted the tiles in bathroom, and thought it clever to flush the remaining grout down the bath.
Since then, the bath has been taking longer and longer to drain away and is now at a point that when you run the tap - without the plug - it starts to fill. The same has also started to happen with the sink.
He has had the bath panel off, and cleaned the 'trap' but that has not solved the problem.
We have used Cillit Bang, Mr Muscle and Domestos plug unblockers and are now on the brink of calling the drain doctor.
Can anyone recommend any heavy duty/industrial strength cleaner that will clear the pipes without damaging them?
Many thanks
Frizz

I would have thought that the grout will not be affected by chemicals, otherwise it would wash out when you cleaned your tiles... not good news I'm afraid, sorry!
I recon the pipes will need rodding, I think you can buy a rodding kit from Screwfix which will probably be cheaper than paid someone else to do it... on the bright side at least it's not the soil pipe... yuck!0 -
i think edthedead is right and rodding is the only answer!
I have to rod my whole drains (4 inspection pits and over 50ft of pipework to my septic tank!) on a regular basis as my mum who has alzheimers lives with us and puts all sorts down the loo!!! I brought 2 sets of rods (as i have such a long distance between inspection pits) 10 to a set about £10 per set from a local hardware store and a plunger end for about £3 it is a messy smelly job but not too bad if you suck an extra strong mint whilst doing it to block the smell!!! good luck!!Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

If the drains outside the house are blocked I would have thought it unlikely that the grout caused the problem unless they were close to being so before the grout dissposal
The blockage is probably in the pipe between the bath to the main soil pipe and if it is not in the trap then look for a low spot in the pipe run where the grout could have collected..Grout and waterproof tile adhesive can be softened by soaking in warm water and washing up liquid but not enough to wash it away...I have reclaimed tiles that the backs were coated with adhesive and had grout on the edged this way .Do the bath and sink share the same pipe B4 they meet the soil pipe ..if they do check for the blockage in or after the sink pipes.
