Well I used no frills nappies for DD1 (13 yrs ago) From Kwick save :)

DD2 I used Pampers as had more money.

I do agree though they are pretty expensive.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Lidl nappies, they're about half the price of Pampers and they are FAB! My sister has just started using them for her little girl who's 4 months. She's on epilepsy medication and it causes GIGANTIC runny poos _pale__pale_ She tried pampers, huggies, asda, boots and tesco brand, but as a last resort she tried Lidl and they are the only ones that don't leak.

I was also please with the Asda Little Angel nappies. There was no leaking from them and no chemical smell which I tend to find with pampers.

  • i use pampers and huggies for DD i used terrys for DS 18 years ago but found he suffered terribly with nappy rash so swapped tried every make on the market and found pampers the best. this time iv only tried asda and boots samples seemed ok but IMO not as good as pampers. the price can be expensive but i join all the baby clubs and get loads of vouchers sent out and then only buy nappies when they are on offer and use a voucher aswell. i havent bought a full priced pack yet. it makes them much cheaper than own brand if you do that.

You could just wait until they are on offer which invariably they are most months and stock up:)
  • I can reccommend Lidl's aswell! I only tried them about 3 months ago and am gutted I didnt try them sooner, they are great.

I had never used anything but Pampers untill I tried those untill my Dad picked them up as an emergancy when I ran out on a short stay.

Depends what suits the particular size, shape and ahem... productivity of the baby in question really. What WOULDN'T be moneysaving would be me going nuts in a baby event and stocking up on one brand, then finding they leak like mad when the baby materializes and isn't that brand's ideal shape... which is annoying as hell when you're trying to get everything prepared in advance - so I've got a mix of different brands in smaller packs to see what's working well - and only then am I going to be in a position to stalk special offers. If it's Pampers/Huggies then so be it and we'll ride special offers for all they're worth - if it's a supermarket own brand, all the better!

  • To be honest- I am going to choose sposies for convenience, and the fact that I just dont like the idea of reusing something someone has pooped in lol!!!

I will try supermarkets own brand, and will try LIDLs (thanks ladies!). If it means I can save alot of money each month, it will be well worth. And the end of the day- they are made for pooping and peeping in. The price for what they are is silly.

I use Huggies because they are the only nappy that does not have that god awful chemical smell and in turn they do not give my LO nappy rash. I have found amazon a good place to buy and I love the Huggies Natural Fit nappies. I don't scrimp on things for my LO she's far too precious!!

I don't as it happens, because I was walking down the baby aisle the other day and noticed that Pampers and Huggies are similar in price to when my oldest was a baby and he is 14 today! So they don't seem to have gone up much in the intervening years. And they were on offer. There were never any offers on nappies when my were small, though there were often offers on the wipes.

I have also noticed the price has not gone up much. My boys are 19 and 14 and I actually think they were most expensive when I had my first, and then were a bit cheaper for my second. I found it depended on the age and stage which brand fitted best and swapped between the two.

I buy Asda little angels, had no problem with them whatsoever, no leaking, good fit, and they dont have this chemical smell peopleare talking about? only ever used Asda's own so didnt realise some nappies can have a chemical smell!
