we put an offer in on a property 5 weeks ago knowing the vendors still needed to find..
they did howver say that if they didnt find in 2 weeks they would vacate...
we wasnt worried as we had to vacate our property anyway so 12 weeks to 14 weeks not much difference..
its now been 5 weeks and they havent found i know they are looking as there is a shotage of what they are looking for (im an EA and they are reg with us too_
should i be a bit pushy now and insist they vacate after certain time?
i feel guilty cos they have children ect..

No need to feel guilty.
You can put pressure on them to vacate.
They can stay put.
You might be able to agree...0 -
we're in exactly the same position - there is absolutely nothing you can do
you can try and put pressure on them and they can tell you to sling your hook - we are still actively looking for other houses as we have no faith that our vendors in any hurry to move and we're now starting to worry as house prices in the area are shooting up again
keep the offer there but keep looking would be my adviceYou'll never see a rainbow if you don't first put up with the rain . . . :happylove0 -
Thanks for your replies i was thinking of getting back out there looking again... :j OFFICIAL DFW NERD NO 159 PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH OUR DEBTS:beer: :j

what have you done to help them find, have you registered their details with other estate agents in the area? i know you would like to sell them a property and keep all the nice comission, but be realistic, get their details out there, do specific canvessing or leaflet drop certain roads you know they want to live in, offer them first refusal on all the new properties that come into your office, mate where there is a will, there is a wayNo Links or Advertising in signatures by site rules - MSE Forum Team 2

We are in the other position we accepted an offer on our house in mid January. We explained to our buyers that we hadn't found a property but would be prepared to move into my partner's parents or rented if they wanted to move in asap (that was before they put an offer in). We have since built up a good relationship with them and said we would be grateful if they could tell us when they want us to go so we can make arrangements. They keep saying there is no rush as they live with their parents (they are FTBs) and its more time to save up for furniture. However, if they turned round tomorrow and said they wanted to get the ball rolling for a move in date we would make alternative arrangements asap as we promised that in order to sell the house and if they said they were still looking due to us dragging our heels we would soon get a move on! Sorry for the ramble but another perspective is sometimes a good one!
So I think what I'm trying to say is let your agent know your still looking (takes breath.....!)I wished the buck stopped here as I could use a few!0 -
thanks lianne..
i think the worst thing for me as i work in an EA and hear it all the time..
we will vacate
and then when it comes to it no i cant make my family homeless!!!
the worst thing is most of me doesnt mind waiting but if they decide not to sell in 3 months!

I understand their predicament but I have 2 kids and a dog! You can't secure the deal and then drag your heels. But I suppose that is life, they probably knew you would wait. We were panicking we've been looking since October 06, we had our heart set on a particular area of town about 2 miles from where we live, as it would happen we've found our dream home 150 metres down the road from where we live (going to put an offer in tomorrow) Fingers crossed they'll find something. I can understand both sides.I wished the buck stopped here as I could use a few!0
