Advice re Bichon Frise

I have the most adorable little Bichon which we bought from my friend, who is a breeder. We go on holiday every xmas and my baby pooch goes to stay with my friend and her mum for the duration. Which she normally loves. However this time i feel like i have came home to a different dog. For the 1st week we had her home, every time we would go out and leave her alone in the house she would pee, poo & vomit all over the room she stays in when we are out. She has since started to shake and tremble if she sees us get our coats on. She will run round in circles by the front door and cry and shake uncontrollably. Its almost like we have to completely re train her not to do her business in the house. She even peed in her bed. I dont know if its just because she has really missed us or if she's had a bad experience at my friends house?? I dont know if i should take her the vets so they can just check her over. She is almost 2. This is the 1st pet we have ever owned. She is so spoilt. I am just really worried about her.

Has your friend got a new partner?
Or was there some other emergency over the time which meant she had to be left locked up for an extended period?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

I think maybe she has been locked in the kitchen as she has a gate on there and my friends dog who is my dogs mum usually gets locked behind it. She has teenage sons also who are not a lover of the dogs.0 -
Sounds to me like something happened to terrify her while you were away. I'd be looking at the sons.0

I have to agree with zaksmum, it does sound like she's been terrified while you've been away. I'd be tempted to get the vet to check her over especially as she's been vomiting. Perhaps a DAP diffuser would help to calm her whilst you work on her separation anxiety? Oh, and start researching kennels for your holidays this year.

ETA - I don't know if she's insured, but my policy will pay for a behaviourist, if referred by a vet.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
Have you spoken directly to your friend about this? You are describing the behaviour of an absolutely petrified little dog and I'd be seriously concerned as to how she got into such a state.0

thanks for your replies guys. I am looking at a DAP diffuser now, never heard of them before.
I have spoken to my friend to which she replied nothing that she is aware of happened and she thinks she is just to spoilt !!!
I'm gonna book an apt with the vets as i'm really worried about her. We have even had to start letting her sleep upstairs with us as she cries way to much if we leave her downstairs0
