how do i get damp water marks out of wall

hi all,
hoping this is right place to put this & hope some kind soul will come to my aid last year our flat roof on carport leaked a little and made a damp patch just above the door in the kitchen, flat roof on carport all now water tight but how do i get these marks out? it's driving me insane. hubby said paint over it so i did and still there.. mind you could be his crap paint :mad: so i have told him were of to b & q tomorrow to buy dulux
but i want to get this right before i start painting it again
if anyone has any advice i would be truly grateful. many thanks everyone

This is the stuff you want - http://www.zinsserdirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=4 - you might struggle to get it in B&Q but if you try a local decorators merchants you'll probably find it there. Don't be fooled by the fact you've never heard of zinsser - its good stuff as is their Permawhite when it comes to stopping mould.Adventure before Dementia!0

it's been driving me mad :mad: will go to local decorators store before i go to b & q. of course hubby don't think we need it but i know his DIY skills well it's not his DIY skills more the fact he wants to get out of doing it and sticking his hand in his pocket
