Claiming PPI from Welcome Finance

Hi, this is my 1st post and I'm hoping someone can advise me on what to do about claiming back PPI as i've not done this before!
The backround: about 3 years ago I took out a 3k loan with Welcome Finance, I'm not sure whether or not I took PPI with them but judging by the amounts of the repayments I'm pretty sure I must have...
I finished paying the loan off about 18 months ago (i paid a settlement figure 6 months early).
From what I can see Welcome Finance has now been taken over by another company? Can I still contact them to find out if i did take out PPI with the loan?
The problem I've got is that I no longer have any of the paperwork and am not sure what to do next?
Any advice would by much appreciated, thanks.

Write to them asking them to look at your account(s). They can usually get the info they need from your name and address. FSCS are now dealing with all PPI reclaims 'in house' at Welcome, as Welcome are in default and they are KNOWN to have mis-sold. Dont expect anything to happen quickly though, its took me 11 months to get anywhere
