Most suppliers either have a standing charge or a primary rate and a secondary rate. If you want one rate and no standing charge then Ebico is the cheapest but you must be a low user or it's not worth it as the per unit rate is quite high.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

They should all be forced to scrap all charges but a cost per rate, all other fuel is sold by weight or measure, so should this be.
It would soon sort out who the cheapest suppliers are !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Gas and electricity are rather different, as you can't collect a kWh of electricity, or a cu m of gas, from your local supplier. The transmission/distribution costs are a large part of the total retail cost.
OP, there is no 'cheapest' supplier, it depends on usage and region as stated above.
NSC and SC tariffs invariably cost almost exactly the same over the year, unless you are a very low user. Use your annual kWh figures on a comp site to find the best deal.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
