The problem is that if you lose 2 items of identity then you can re-direct your post to a new address. So if someone is quick and gets in a lot of applications say in the first month you may not notice straightaway that you are not receiving your usual post.

I thought that Royal Mail sent the initial letter to the property to confirm that they will be redirecting the mail from 'x' date?
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

James and not a word about chip and bloody pin!
Anyway how often do you intend to apply for your credit files then at £2 a pop that's £4 per application to the biggest two agencies - every month, every week??
By the time you get them someone could have cleared out a loan and credit card.

You can put this system in situ without spending £2 for your credit file and you need never check your credit file again. All it will cost you is the price of 3 letters, 3 envelopes and 3 stamps.

I'd advise that you do use Equifax - for 2 reasons.

    1. They are embracing the system and have facilitated quick and easy enrollment. You are protected in a more timely manner - included FOC with your credit file.

    2. By checking your file you can assure yourself it's clean. If it's not you may have to add an additional statement to your Notice of Correction.

    Additional advantages are:

You may never need to check your file again.

Attempts of fraudulent activity on your file will stick out like a sore Thumb, the lender will be alerted. Free Indication & Warning.

Your Notice of Correction follows your file and not your address - even if you change address you are protected.

When your nearest and dearest are most vulnerable - after your death - they are protected. Yes criminals, as I'm sure your aware, pinch the ID of the deceased.

It's the exact same principle as the following examples with one great exception. Crooks don't have a choice - if they want to pinch your ID, they must leave their calling card.

Not 1 case of fraud in 5 years. or Maybe Thumbprint angers Crook!

    Fraud & Theft Reduced.

    Perpetrator caught.

Hypothetically speaking. If a crook managed to successfully apply for a credit card (Chip & PIN of course), use that card to hit ATMs without ever being challenged, then the victim could hold the lender liable. The chances of a successfully application are almost nil. (I did manage to get something about C&P in)
