How do you know the doors have a 1.9 u value? You said nobody would give you the info?

You don't have any problem with future sales

building regs dont apply to replacement doors with glazing of less than 50%

if they were contracted to provide replacement doors that comply with current building regs it appears they have done so

if they were contracted to provide doors that provide an overall u-value of 1.8 then you have a valid argument - but unfortunately it sounds like it is not worth the time and effort to persue

If it IS ever an issue. A simple replacement of the units should be able to achieve a better U value. Argon, Kryptonite (i'm sure it was kryptonite?.) BTW Super man wouldn't have been able to pull that job off.

There is a scheme where you can apply through your council for a imdemnity certificate costs about £99 here (merseyside) Building control check it make sure its all in order and up to current saftey standards. Toughened / u value /locks /20% floorspace openings etc. It depends how you want to play this and how far you want to go as i think there are other issues with the quality of the work you have had than the fensa cert for the doors. If you point out the problems to B/C they will be logged and then you have in writing the problems. If you want to be problem free and the b/c will not notice a 1.8 or 1.9 m2 a cert will be issued for your future resale etc. Im a window fitter and cannot work out why the window manufactures or installers (are they the same) are being a ballache. It seems like relations are strained between you both also . A difficult one hope it works out.
