Hi, I've heard alot about how good Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter is but can you tell me how perfumed it is. I can't use anything that's strongly scented. Can you smell a scent on your face after using it and if so how strong. I just want to find out before spending out.
Thanks

It does smell a little of cocoa butter, it is lovely I have used it on my hands & dry patches on my arms but it's more of a balm consistency I think it would be a bit thick for your face. have you tried Weledas baby calendula weather cream, that's really good too supposed to be similar to Elizabeth Ardens 8 hour cream.Booo!!!0

It's very lightly scented, and very thick in teexture when cold, so if you did wish to use it on your face you'd only need the tiniest smear. I use it after my shower when my skin is warm (but not on my face) and it just melts right in.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I read somewhere I think it was the Daily Mail that women were using on their face! I thougth that as it was cheap. I'd give it a go and try it on my face. I'll look up so reviews online about Weledas baby calendula weather cream. Thank you for the recommodation.
I suppose I'm just trying to find a face moisturiser that good cheap, chearful and not strong smelling.0 -
Just found the article, it's from a year ago & the bottom butter was only £2.54 then so it's probably worth shot at that price it is nice cream & it does melt into the skin. Maybe drop Weleda a wee email saying you have sensitive skin but someone recommended their cream & could they maybe send a sample.Booo!!!0

I've just finished a tub. I'd say it smelt of vanilla. It's basically solidified olive oil and I can't imagine it being great on the face.
I can't see a particular reason to buy it again TBH, it's like a nicer version of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.0 -
I use it on my face; but more a a protective barrier in the weather it isn't that fab as moisturiser.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0

I had mine for a couple of months and it went really runny.
It was just sitting in a drawer and it wasn't in my bathroom so I don't know what went wrong! I agree with people that said it's just like Vaseline - it's too oily to use during the day and it didn't really add anything to my skin but grease! 0 -
Blimy..I'm slow I didn't realise that Daily Mail review was a year ago. Maybe, I will get a tub when I run out of a body lotion, as it looks like it might not be that great on the face after all.
I'm glad I checked out here first.0 -
I actually use it on my baby's bottom lol. its made of olive oil, with a small amount of chamomile and vanilla so it does have a scent - it smells lovely on my dd.
I wouldn't use it on my face as its praps a tad heavy but then I'm not a big one for potions so I'm not a good one to advise on that.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
It's good for the face if your skin is very dried out but otherwise it's best used as more of a topical balm, good for dry bits and I love it as a hand cream.
The scent is very light and it is nothing like vaseline.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
