I am going to college in september doing a national diploma. The thing is my partner has decided that he wants to go as well. I am a stay at home at the momment, he is self employed and only earns just over 10k a year. Would we be entitled to any benefits if we both go to college. I have searched and cannot find any good info any where.
thanks

If you are in receipt of some sort of benefit, which I assume you are due to your low household income, you are likely to be charged a reduced course fee.0

yes we are having our course fee reduced, the problem is we will have no money to live on pay the bills buy food ect. As it is not a HE course we cant find much info.
Thanks

If you're not claiming any benefits you could be eligible for an Adult Learning Grant of £30 per week. What course is your OH doing?
Have you thought about taking turns in going to college, each supporting the other whilst s/he studies?0 -
Depending what area you live in you should be entitled to the Adult Learning Grant. It pays £30 a week term time only, for the weeks you have full attendance.
You may also get free council tax if both of you are studying. You'd probally have to have a part time job as well though0
