Advice needed : Reclaiming PPI from HSBC
Comments
-
This goes against everything I've so far been informed by HSBC. I sent off the Ombudsman questionnaire for loans I had paperwork for and received a letter some weeks later requesting I fill in the questionnaire for some other old loans I wasn't aware of.Thanks for the advice peeps.
Called HSBC today and said i wish to make a complaint about PPI, they brought up my details and put the complaint straight through without any problems, so fingers crossed!
The pertinent part of the letter for everyone posting in this thread
is that they included the following comment
"It is important that a questionnaire is completed in respect of each policy you are complaining about. The questionnaire is a vital part of our investigation and it may not be possible to respond to your concerns without it"
So those who have telephoned their complaint will likely receive a similar letter including a copy of the questionnaire to fill out. If you want to prepare in advance for this eventuality then go to this link on the main MSE site:

I just contacted HSBC and asked whether I have had PPI mis-sold on my loan agreement, and the cust service guy just flat out stated that I have not had any PPi at all on any of my loans from HSBC. He didnt even ask me for any of my loan details!
Do I just send in the letter now? Or does this require a heated exchange over the telephone?
Thank you!
Edit: I have one loan with HSbc which was taken out in oct 2010 and was for consolidation of my previous loan, credit card and overdraft, all with hsbc.
In total, I think I have had at least 4 loan agreements over the last 6 years which I have consolidated from time to time.
How can I get loan agreement details for my older loans?0 -

What is your complaint about?
There is nothing wrong with having PPI. Its how it was sold or set up that matters. You obviously didnt know if it was sold to you or not. HSBC say it wasnt. So, how are you going to complain about something you dont have ?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
