missing state pension

Well, this has never happened before. My state pension is paid directly into my savings account every Monday, except when there's a bank holiday when it's paid the previous Friday.

Not there today!

I wonder why this is - does it happen often and I've just been lucky up until now, or should I panic and call DWP? Luckily I'm not reliant on it being there dead on time but if I were, I'd be in trouble.

If you don't need the cash, I would not panic until say Friday.

This happened to me once. Ring now to find out what is happening.

In my case I was told they were reviewing my state pension. It turned out that I had been receiving the wrong amount! A letter did turn up later.

I eventually received my 'reviewed' amount backdated with interest paid (they had apparently made a mistake with my original calculation).

This happened to me once about a year ago. I rang the Pensions Service and told them I wasn't dead! They sorted it out at the speed of light, but I never found out why it happened. Give them a ring.

Been out all day and just checked again. It's arrived, so I guess they just had a lie-in this morning!
