SimplySwitch, no vouchers,no service.

I used this site to do a dual fuel switch in July 2011.
They managed to swop the Electric OK but did not do anything about swopping the Gas,which when I found out about it had to do it myself.
I received the standard Email saying cashback would be due & then complete silence,no reply to any Emails till Jan (telling me that "I" had changed the Gas in Oct---talk about stating the obvious).
So no Cashback.
No communication.
Not exactly a business to recommend to anyone.

  • Hello - I switched with Simplyswitch in August 2011 via the link on the Moneysavingexpert.com website. I was slightly cynical and my fears were confirmed when surprise, surprise, no cashback was received for making the switch.

    Incidentally the switch itself (electricity) went very smoothly indeed.

    I waited the 3 months for the money to appear in my account as promised, and nothing happened.

    I emailed the company last night to say that I was planning to post to this forum and I have received an instant email back to say that they are going to pay me today.

    This is about 7 months after my switch and the only reason they are doing it is because I chased them up.

    This is not acceptable business practice and, in my opinion, utterly disgraceful, because this company are clearly not doing what they promise to do - ie pay cashback for you making a switch.

    I suspect this is their business plan and if it is I hope that Moneysavingexpert do not endorse them in future.

    Beware......

    Much better to always find your tariff via a switch site, the do the switch via a cashback site. That way you control it (and usually get more cashback anyway).
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
