An employment agency called me about a job I had applied for in housing however they were waiting for feedback from the employers but a job all of a sudden had come up to work in a housing calls centre! Which I was reluctant to take on as it was a massive step down for me! But I said yes I am a single mum and been on jsa for 3months and times were getting hard and the redundancy money was coming to an end!
I stated the Job without an interview and I made it aware to the temping agency and the team leaders in the call centre this is something I did 4yrs ago and I need more of a challenge as I am a born problem solver! They knew this was not a permant role for me and I would continue to work on a temping basis.
I worked there for a full week and 3 days! I then had a call from another employer in regards to a job that was best suited for me, and I was to start then the next day as I had been to an interview which I had passed! I wanted this job as it was a job I had experience in and knowledge and knew I could make a difference. Anyway I told the stupid ( who didn't read my cv but just saw me as a money making machine for their own selfish ways) employment agency I wasn't returning back to their job- I read the terms and conditions and I didn't need to give them any notice but they would like 1 week notice ( but this is not in the terms and conditions). They were really rude when I told them but I had little sympathy for them as they clearly were all uneducated people as they didn't read my cv correctly as they put me in a job that I I'd four years ago!
Anyway they are now ignoring my emails for my remaining pay which was 1 day and my holiday pay! Please someone give me some advice on what I should do! I think I am owed it for doing this work for them! I need legal advice as I want this money! I Want to name and shame this agency and the !!!! I am dealing with! Please someone help me!!
Firstly, paragraphs make your post easier to read than being a huge wall of text.
Secondly did you get your timesheet for that day signed off? If not - then you are likely to be unable to get that pay. Its usually in the T&C's that you have to get this signed and make sure they get it or they can't pay you.
Holiday pay: If you worked 8 days of 8 hrs, 7 of which are provable then on a basis of ~12% you'd be owed about 7 hours holiday pay. Assuming that you weren't paid a rate that rolled your holiday pay into it as some firms do - some firms do this so check your assignment details/T&Cs. (Although I'm puzzled by you working 1 week three days and only being owed 1 day - most of the time they'd pay a week at a time so it should be 3 days owed?)
Lastly, calm down. With the attitude wafting off your post I wouldn't be in a hurry to try to sort it out if I was the agency as every question you've been asked you've bitten back with anger and hatred and acted like everything to do with involving yourself with an agency is demeaning to you.
Once you've removed this and stopped mentally calling them thieves - whether you believe it or not - find what info you can and confirm the position. Then phone and nicely speak to them to confirm the rest. You will get a much better response.
Think of it this way: If someone calls in over a error with their housing and sounds like they think you are scum and potentially even shouts at you do you want to help them? if someone calls in calmly and explains there might have been an oversight, explains and asks what needs to be done to help sort this you are more likely to be able to do more for them.0 -

ROFL. Calls people uneducated yet can't use punctuation or construct a sentence properly herself.0
