Cheap breadmaker

I'm looking to buy a breadmaker, but it needs to have a Gluten Free programme (as OH has wheat intolerance).

I saw the thread about Sainsburys, but they didnt have any at Merry Hell.

Any suggestions?

Do your self a big favour and get the panasonic SD253 it is superb does gluten free and includes a nut dispenser. Bought one for the wife who needs gluten free but use it a lot myself.

On amazon for around £75 here but check around

I was going to buy a cheap breadmaker (a £24 one from asda) but got pursueded my various people to get this one instead, as they are easy to use and produce good bread.

ive just got the £23 one from argos and its great does the same as all the ones do. Its great have been making loads of bread since i bought it! It can also make cakes and jam havent tried this yet though

I've just ordered the Cookworks Breadmaker from Argos after reading what MSE'rs have said about it and others, Didn't want to spen £80+ on the Panasonic.

Having looked around it is obvious that the Cookworks at £23.99 is identical to the Morphy Richards which sells for between £40 and £50.

Check the images on these links and its clear that the Cookworks has a couple of minor changes but is the same.

I bought the Panasonic SD253 from a eBay shop last week for £56 including delivery. Ordered Monday evening arrived Wednesday and we have been using it continually since. The box was a bit bashed but the breadmaker well packaged and brand new. The recipe book has a couple of pages of gluten free recipes too. PM and I'll give you the seller name if you're interested.

Im quite tempted by the argos offer - do you know if it has a gluten free option or if the manufacturer says its ok for gluten free baking?

I was a novice cook and bought the panasonic breadmaker on a whim- and I love it delivers great loafs and although its dearer it was worth every penny.There are 2 types the one with nut dispenser and the one without. That is the only differance between the sd varities. It has a glutten free programme and come with about 8 recipes in the leaflet. However you do need to buy the specail tru free flour etc.I have heard the cheaper breadmakers are not as good and a false economy.

We've had the Panasonic Sd253 for nearly two years now and I have to say that in that time, the number of loaves of bread we have bought we can count on one hand. the machine was easy to use and flexible too, in terms of recipes. I'd recommend that machine, the build quality is pretty good too.
