I always shop around Blackcircles, eTyres and MyTyres.

However, I also ring around the usual High Street suspects. If possible, try to do this at the end of the month, as they may be desperate to meet their monthly sales targets. Anyway, a high quote is still useful, as it maximises your saving, ie. this one minus the cheapest one.

And don't forget any local garages. My old one always undercut even the internet firms, by buying in the tyres to order, and then selling them at cost plus £10 for fitting, valve, balancing and an honest profit, as an unashamed footfall offer/loss leader.

I have used several and find it best to google the type and size of tyres that you want to find the best deals and it usually comes up trumps with Ebay suppliers!

There is one problem tho, and that is finding a local tyre fitters that will change your tyres as most will only change those they supply!

Probably just to encourage you using them but they will state its also an insurance and guarantee issue!

Try phoning the smaller independant tyre shops and you will find someone but it will be an added cost so needs to be considered when you purchase to be sure your actualy going to save???

Over the years I've used quite a few online tyre places - some of the those in the list on MSE plus CTyres and I've had the fully fitted service. CTyres has been the latest one I've used. Lots of posts on car forums in favour of Event Tyres as they come to you, at home or at work and the prices are usually very competitve.

Strangely I had checked on there, but a few of the sites didn't look safe, so thought I would ask on here .
