Sky box insurance?

I've just been rung up by a company called satellite services UK (or something like that) saying the warranty on my sky system has finished and they would be pleased to insure my box and dish for £8 a month. Is this worth doing? Any advice gratefully received.

I would say not.
If anything goes wrong with your system Sky will fix it for £65 regardless of what it is. You could also threaten to cancel if they don't send an engineer for nothing.0 -

It's a scam. A better "insurance" is to buy a spare Sky box off eBay for (typically) £30.0
