Did you topup the meter etc all the way though?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

If you dont owe it..just ignore them. You will have your day in court to embarrass them and claim damages.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Hi sarahmolly - I'm afraid you are going to have to make some effort to sort this out, don't just ignore it

Though EDF didn't send you any bills, you did have an account and the fact they didn't bill you will probably work to your advantage

WRITE to EDF heading the letter Complaint asking for a fully detailed bill covering the period from when they began to supply you, right up to the date the Pre-pay meter was installed, and annual statements showing power used and money paid for each year you had the Pre-pay meter They have to supply these - and why you are now recieving demands for back-debt when you were told there was none

Until this complaint is satisfied, you should not recieve any further demands for payment.
When you have the paperwork post the details here, as there is a good chance that you can benifit from the 'No Back Billing beyond 12 months' agreement
  • the OP says EDF fit a key meter and recovered the debt at £5 per week - they also let her switch suppliers which does mean she didnt have £800 worth of debt
