Having spent almost all my working life expecting not to get my State pension until nearly five years after my wife, I now find that my date is 6/3/20 whilst hers is 14/10/20. All this changed so recently that we are both already retired early in the expectation of supplementing our income with her State pension before our reserve pot expires. Oh well, anybody want to join us in the work house? [Actually, and before anyone else points it out, I do appreciate how lucky we are, even if we do have to husband every penny in order not to have to compete on the job market].
