Anyone got Kowsky Crutches?

Afternoon,

I've had normally grey boring nhs crutches for the last 20 odd years and I like the look of these http://www.kowsky.de/en/unterarmstuetze/color-line/konfigurator-3-forearm-crutch-222-kl-vario-line

Have to be honest and say am not sure they look at sturdy as nhs ones although they do say there good for 19st (am no where near that).

had a look on eBay and wondered if anyone had brought or had any experience of these? Thanks

  • I have a kowsky walking stick and love it to bits - light but sturdy.
A friend has a pair of the open cuff crutches and raves about them - I've also had a go on them. They're quiet to use and light. Apparently they are very comfy for regular use as well. They are a lot lighter than standard NHS ones, but they don't feel flimsy.
    Hope that helps.

How are you getting these. They don't seem to have a UK distributor as far as I can see. Asking as they do look really good.

Much appreciated. I think I am going to try them too, but looking at the anotomic soft handles. I have anotomic ones but hoping the soft ones will help the bu****ed hands a bit more
  • The soft ones are really comfy! Hope you find they help.. currently saving up for a pair myself :)

Well they've been delivered pretty quick considering they where dispatched Mondays.

They look great I like the colour and they do feel sturdy if a little strange around the arms (guess it like having new shoes) gonna take a bit to used too I guess. The only downside is and this is maybe a personal thing but I have closed cuff ones and the cuffs aren't as flexible as the nhs ones, I trend to take my arms out the front of the cuff on my old sticks where as these ones are a tight fit so I have to take my arms out the top. May try some open cuffs in the future.

Overall I pretty happy will see what there like after a bit of use.
