Does a Paypal refund have to be by e-cheque?

Hi, trying to refund someone for an off Ebay transaction but don't want them to have to wait a week for the funds to clear, yet when processing the refund I can't see an option to refund by another method. They only paid today

    Have you got a credit card attached to the account? This may be the reason why.

    I have 2 debit cards attached to the account. Last time I refunded someone I had already transferred the money to my bank account. I think this time seeing as the money is still in my Paypal account, it should go through straight away.
  • Recently I refunded 2 buyers and each time the payments went as e-cheques - I phoned Paypal to ask why and they said it was just a random check on my account...
