Help needed with a dealer

I need help in dealing with a parcel company. my cousin sent a parcel via a company called DTDC to UK on 17th Jan. As yet, I haven't received it. The branch in London say that they have lost the computer data related to the shipment and are trying to recover but this has been the same statement from 2 weeks. Iam at a loss as what to do. I don't want to get hefty sums for legal advice. I would be very grateful if friends here can help me out in the right direction. Thanks

Not a lot you can do, it is down to the sender to claim, not the consignee.

Get the sender to phone the customer support line, the chance of something going missing then it dissapearing of there system isn't very likely! Something dodgy is going on!

hi, thanks for replying so soon. The sender has been in person to the company in India but they have shirked all responsibilty and are blaming the UK branch. I have called them today and told them I will be taking legal action against them !

You cannot take legal action as you have no contract with them.

It would potentially be up to your cousin to pursue the company they used in India for the losses however I have no idea about Indian law and how this sort of thing is pursued/ what liabilities exist.
