Tell me im stupid

Just out of curiosity I wanted to go on a site. Now Google alerts me that it is potentially harmful and doesnt let me go further. Curiosity killing me, so I pasted the said URL straight to my search bar and hey presto got where I wanted.
Two hours later I am just recovering from a bombardment of Trojans, viruses, you name it I got it. It shut down my firewall, disabled spybot, avg..., disabled my ability to start task manager....the works.

Think from now on I will just be curious and forget it....:rotfl:
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!

Thing is I cant help it, when told not to do something I generally want to do it. You think I would be over this stage at my time in life, why yesterday I stuck my finger into a case I opened and got a shock, should have powered it off first

Well to be honest, what is Google there for, if it's not a way of feeding your curiosity?

My suggestion is to secure your browser and OS. Web sites shouldn't be able to infect your computer with nasties, in my opinion. Make sure you've got all your patches, and that your anti-virus is up to date, and that your firewall is properly configured. Then keep an eye on SecurityFocus and The Register.

You should add this to the security sticky etc - as a tale for all ..... hope you got your system back

Poor people spend then save what's left.
