I'll vouch for the heated grips/bar muffs combo.
I hate thick gloves, so a pair of Givi bar muffs and my bike's built-in heated grips are brilliant. I can ride in summer-weight race gloves even in temperatures of -9deg.
I've never thought about anyone pinching the muffs TBH, although I suppose it is possible. I'll admit they don't look the most glamorous bit of kit either, but I don't mind as it means I don't have to spend 10 minutes waiting for my fingers to work before I can undo my helmet at the end of a cold commute.0 -
so that means they don't actually do what they should... you need the grips, making the throttle etc fatter too and then you have to pay again for bar muff which look rubbish, can be nicked off the bike and/or end up full of water if you have to park in the rain
It depends on what make of grips you use. OEM grips fitted to BMW's are a normal thickness and you can buy kits where the heater elements fit under the standard grips. I have fitted a set of these to my wifes ER5 and they work very well indeed.
Muffs may not look good but they are effective. In all the years I have used them I have never had a set nicked and neither has my wife. A set of muffs is not that expensive either, especially compared to Gerbing gloves.
The grips do what they say and are a lot better than no heat source at all.fivetide wrote:Never had an issue with them and they have been fine for two years now. Given I could spend more than what they cost purely on a pair of waterproof gloves I think they are an absolute bargain.
5t.
I can only give details of my wifes experiences which are not confidence inspiring."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

If you know any nurses then some rubber gloves between the layers can help as well if the gloves aren't waterproof.Shopaholic
