Cannot Access Internet On PAYG Mobile

I upgraded my phone on contract and gave the new phone to my daughter. She put a new 02 sim card in and topped up using one of their tarriffs but she cannot access the internet. When she tries she gets a mesage saying

unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider.

Before she does this I thought i'd ask on here first to save her some credit.

Does anyone know how to solve this please?

The access point name is different for PAYG, depending on the handset the new settings can be sent over the air from the O2 website, or it can be input manually.

I've tried looking on the website but cannot find it. She has a Blackberry. Do you know where I find them?

Ah, now that maybe slightly different, the usual data services can be located via the O2 site as per the post above, the Blackberry messenger service runs on it's own network and usually a seperate subscription is required, this is on top of 'regular' data access.

" Is my BlackBerry connected to the network and ready to use?

Once you have inserted your active SIM card into your phone you should see GPRS, EDGE or 3G (in capital letters) with dots after it if in the right corner of the phone, this shows that your phone is registered to the O2 and BlackBerry Network and ready to use. If your phone is showing OFF if the right corner, from the Home Screen click the Manage Connections
BB-manage-connections-icon.jpg icon, and ensure the Mobile Network box has a tick in it.

If your phone is showing gprs, edge, gsm, or 3g (in lower case letters) in the right corner of the phone then your phone is connected to the O2 network, but not the BlackBerry network. You should take your battery out and put it back in again which try to reconnect the BlackBerry network, if that fails you will need to contact O2 Customer Services to check your sim card has been provisioned for BlackBerry."
