I have a Horstman 425 Tiara boiler and will be away for a couple of days so we don't get a problem with freezing pipes we want to turn the water off if I turn the boiler to off on the programmer will it turn the pilot light off please if anyone can help.
Turning the water off will not prevent freezing unless you completely drain all heating and water pipes!!
The pilot will stay alight but this will not prevent freezing either!
The best thing would be to just turn the boilerstat and room stats down to a minimum with the heating left on 24 hrs so that the property maintains a minimum temperature throughout!!!
OK you will use gas but which is more expensive, that or the cost of a frozen pipe which will burst and when defrosted and cause major water damage???Signature removed0
