You have the option of not paying £4.15.

If you go to Tesco and see a twix bar for 50p, and one next to it for £4.65, would you buy the £4.65 one?

Do you work, and if so, what is your hourly wage? £4.15 is 40 minutes of labour at minimum wage.

If you want to give your hard earned money away to fat cats, go for it. Threads like these make me want to buy shares in Provident, it never ceases to amaze me how people will give up the fruits of their labour for no tangible benefit.

May be too late as you have the card already but there are interest free cards available:

rebuild your credit score with no interest!

Paying interest on any cc is mad, but on a Vanquis card, it is insanity. If you have the money in savings, buy the item on your cc, then when you get the bill, pay it off in full from your savings. Sorry, but anyone who is actually willing to pay interest on a cc, needs their head examining, especially when its a card from the likes of Vanquis!
Use the card for your normal spends, pay it off in full when you get your statement, get into that habit, as that is the best way to improve your credit rating.
And FYI, cc companies make money from every transaction you make on the card, not just from interest.
Debt free and staying that way!

Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

I certainly wouldn't *choose* to pay interest if I didn't have to. No sensible person would.

They're not going to earn a living from me. But that's okay, because people like you, who are choosing to pay interest, are subsidising people like me, who are choosing not to pay interest.

    Thanks ;-)
