Study abroad travel grant- mileage allowance

Hi, does anyone know the correct rate per mile you can claim on the travel
grant forms for study abroad( this is for journey to airport etc) my son has claimed at 0.24 per mile - taken from direct gov fact sheet but has only been allowed 0.20 per mile. Wonder if there has been a reduction in allowance. Thanks

Does it say that he's been given 20p per mile or have you worked it out by dividing what he got by the number of miles? Has he taken into consideration the first £303 which is disregarded?
According to the SLC guidance for 2011/12 here:

Yes we know about the disregard. I followed the guidance figure of 24p per mile but we have only been granted 20p per mile. Student finance have said that this all they will allow. Think I might drop them a line!To do is to be. Rousseau
