There is a big difference between doing Pilates and using the Pilates machine. Using resistance make a world of difference with any excersise. Any "natural" excersie i.e. just using one's own body weight - can only achieve certain results. Using resistance will increase those results. You will get there quicker and look better. As with all excersises though, you need to keep them up, regularly do them and of course have a healthy eating lifestyle. The machine is good. You can use it at home, fit in your training in your own time. It folds up and can just go under the sofa or stand up agains the wall when not in use. I find the worst muscles to work are the abs, it can just be sooo painful just doing a few crunches etc. Pilates classes certainly helped my core stability but that was as far as it went My sister was at the same classes as me and she also bought the Ellen Croft machine .... she was way ahead of me in results once she got that ...... I sooo hate her!!! lol .....
I notice they also advertise a lateral bitrainer on TV .... that is murder on the knees if you have bad knees. My right knee has always been a bit dogdy and we have one of those lateral trainers at our local gym and wow, it plays havoc with my knee.0 -
these are now £99 inc free delivery on ebay and if you google "supreme pilates" theres loads of shops selling at that price too and review sites. I might buy one for the missus

Good statement, I get the best results with pilates resistance that I don't do regular mat pilate anymore. I use the circle, small weighted balls, balance ball and Supreme Pilates. I love the machine, it's the best fitness informercial product I ever got, I highly recommend it it's very good quality, a pleasure to use, the workouts are great!
BUT, this is moneysavingexpert so buyer beware the following quote was posted on another forum. Ellen's new website is http://www.ellencroft.com/ .
"I don't want your people to get burned. So I have to inform you that right now all the machines available on line are knockoffs, even most of those sold on Amazon and ebay, except I can't say for the people selling the one offs. TV Bargains is a knock off. I get emails daily from people who have purchased my machine thinking it's mine as the knock offs have my name and my image on them so there is no way for the purchaser to know. The emails and calls are about missing pieces, damaged product etc., I am in the middle of switching marketing companies and so the machine has been pulled from the market since about June 07, however the knock offs have been out there all along. If your people can wait we will be selling the machine by Christmas. I will offer it on my web site and it will also be available through the infomercial. It's been very important to me that I put out a quality product and it's been very difficult to hear from people who received a low quality knock off as they generally feel badly that they made the purchase and I can't help them with replacement parts etc., Perhaps you can put the word out.
Greatly appreciate your support.
Best Regards,
Ellen Croft"0 -
I actually own this machine. I've had it for 3 months and can HIGHLY recommend it as serious :money: :money: :money: :money: :money: up. I purchased it from ebay as well and only paid £109 including delivery. I know there are a lot dodgy people on ebay and for me I can happily say I have had NO problems with my ebay purchase.
If anyone does buy this, you won't regret it. I strongly suggest that if you do choose to purchase this machine that you go to a few pilates lessons at your local gym so you can understand how to breathe properly (to ensure you are engaging the core muscles properly). I still go my pilates class, the machine seriously enhances it, and have extra stamina in my gym class.
I've had mine for 3 months and I've seen the changes in my body. So if you are thinking about it go for it (if you buy from guthy renker or ebay). It think its brilliant and can't sing it's praises enough. :A :A0 -
I am thinking of buying the Ellen Corft's supreme pilates total body trainer, just seen it advertised recently on one of the shopping channels. It looks really effective, but at £199.00 it is a considered purchase. Has anyone every used one, and what sort or results did you see, if any. Is it easy to move around, as I do not have alot of space I would have to put it away after every use. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who has used this piece of equipment.
I bought the Ellen Corft's Supreme Pilates machine for £199 after seeing the advert on TV. It was delivered in January. There were missing parts. I've been calling over and over again to get these missing parts. They were promising to send me. It's already April, and I am still waiting. It is large thing, not comfortable for tidying away, and unusable at the moment. I truly regret that I bought it. I came accross the website TV Deals. They sell the same Ellen Croft's pilates machine for £44.99 with free delivery. I paid the delivery charges £20. So please think, is it worth to spend so much money. Customer services works very poorly. After purchase if you'll have any problem, you will wait on the phone for response long time. I've been waiting 40 - 50 min.0 -
I bought a pilates machine from QVC quite a few years ago now. I did use it at the beginning, and then I used to find it a pain to keep getting it out and putting it away again. I sold it through the local paper in the end. I ended up going to classes and found them much more effective....better than a DVD coz the instructor comes around and helps you. I would save your money on the machine and spend it doing classes.0

Hi All, this machine is now £39.99 on JMNutrition and £29.99 on TV deals website. I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and is easy to use. The DVD's are good and easy to follow although you may need to pause them a few times to begin with so you can get the hang of it! It is large but folds down to store under the bed and has a handle and wheels on for moving around. It is easy to assemble and made well. Hope this helps a little.0

I got one fromTV deals, who are a complete nightmare to deal with - they only accept bank transfers or cheques and I had to chase them to admit that they got payment. I have the thing set up finally and it seems pretty good, helps you to excersize without hurting yourself but I cant work out how to fit the bits together properly, the instrctions suck. I don't know if it is a knock off or not, but it seems strong enough.0

Do you have to keep stopping to change the springs around? I can't get them to attach without using a clip and there are not enough to set it up like it is set up in the dynamic workout dvd.0 -
