supreme pilates

I am thinking of buying the Ellen Corft's supreme pilates total body trainer, just seen it advertised recently on one of the shopping channels. It looks really effective, but at £199.00 it is a considered purchase. Has anyone every used one, and what sort or results did you see, if any. Is it easy to move around, as I do not have alot of space I would have to put it away after every use. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who has used this piece of equipment.

  • you don't need the machine to do pilates just a DVD which explaines how to do the moves. From my understanding the machine adds resistance and makes it easier. I'm a big lady and I've managed to do pilates without the expensive machines.

This is of course my personal opinion

Thanks very much for your reply. What sort of results have you seen from using the DVD's, and which ones would you recommend. I am looking for a quick way to tone up.
  • You don't need any special equipment for pilates, just the floor or maybe a mat. I have been practicing pilates for ten years. I started because I wanted to tone my "inner core" muscles. It's fantasic and I would recommend it to anyone who is already working out, I have never suffered from back ache, and I'm pretty active. It improves you from the inside out, most exercise concentrates on the outer muscles, pilates works on the core. You can feel the results before you see it.....highly recommended. Advice: take your time learning the basics...don't be in a hurry to go advanced...it's not a race....enjoy your journey ;)

Its a matter of taste and what you want I would look at whats available. I use an old video that ready to join J Pilates in heaven. I would look for one that does not need any equipment other that a mat. What ever the exercise is using the machine, its just as effective done without just using your muscles. I would spend the money on a few lessons to ensure that you are doing it correctly.

Please help-I also saw an advert for the Supreme Pilates Trainer on TV but I didn't get the information on how to send for it. I've spent the whole day surfing the web but cannot find a British supplier. Can anyone give me the details?

I'm with fruitcake on this one.

If you want to spend £200 find a Body Control Pilates class and learn to do it properly. Once you know the basic principles you can work out where to go from there.

I'd thoroughly recommend Pilates, even quite elderly people an do it, but it's best to get properly assessed first.

That's a good price. I see that asapshipping have bids at around £0.50 with shipping costs of $129. Do you mind me asking what bid price you bought it for? And were you charged anything extra by the delivery guy? I got stung like that a couple of years ago and want to avoid that. Also, how do you find the machine, is the quality good? Have you used it? They make it look easy on tv :-)
    Thanks, Hanno.
