Rise credit card

Can anyone give me some information / reviews on the Rise card?

I got declined for Capital One today! Even though they accepted me two weeks ago with a £500 limit, and I signed and returned the agreement.

Had a call off the Application Fraud department? Asking for extra details, went through it passed, but then passed to New Applications and told I have been declined?
Strange, first thing I ever have been!
However I refuse the PPI, I *think* it was due to that, there loss not mine.

But want a third card, to build up credit.

Rise website gives the basic but has anyone used them?

If I use £300 in a month how much will I repay? And why do they want a £20 activation payment?

According to the website, the minimum payment would be £25 + £30 charge for spending £300.

If you didn't use the card, you'd still be charged £3.50.

To activate the card. If you don't want to pay the £20 activation charge, don't apply :)

I'd say the card is strictly for people who can't get a card anywhere else. I'd avoid it personally, there are cheaper options.

    Who do they report too?
    All three CRA's?

Why did Cap1 decline me with no adverse credit?

What accounts do you have, too many or too little can be a negative
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Why do you want a 3rd card? 1 or 2 credit cards is enough to build up a credit history. Just make sure you use them and pay in full each month. After 12 months, you should be able to get a better card. Also too many applications in a short space of time has a negative effect on your credit worthiness

You don't need to pay activation fee if you give them details to set up DD

I wanted three as ill be closing three catalogue accounts shortly, so I'll lose three accounts there leaving only 5 small balance accounts which I thought would look like I was profitable.

I'll stick with the two credit cards at the moment I think.

How do I ask Next to close my account? I can't find it anywhere on their website and I want it closed, not just not used.

Please avoid them. Their cs is poor, they can barely speak English and the only way to contact them is by phone (costs a fortune as they can't speak English), or post (take longer).
I'm currently trying to close my account with them but they are not being helpful at all.

Customer Service is terrible and I made a payment on the 14th September and then they lost it - took 4 phone calls to find that out.

Very Very distressing. They then still took my direct debit so have like £600 of my money. I will never use this card again. I am still in dispute with this so I hae sent a letter of complaint.

    Avoid them. PLEASE!!!!

I used their online facility - go to help- account- account closure and they have a contact form.

    Alternatively they have a number 0844 844 8000

I would go the online route as phoning will probably be quite expensive.

I would cancel the direct debit with them as I don't trust these idiots with my money.
They asked me to send them proof of ID and address by post as I had failed one of their security questions yeah right!
I posted last week and they still haven't received my documents.
I will send a complaint letter once my account is closed and will ask them to refund me the money for all the phone calls I had to make to close my account.
    Joke!
Where did you find the help section please?
This is the site I have for them:

    Thanks,
    Mag
