Well this is the final straw....many many problems with Student Finance, far too many to go into here (including not understanding that my maiden name and married name do not mean I am two separate people, but hey)
Completed my postgrad course last year. All evidence sent in when requested. I received a childcare grant to cover nursery fees. Sent all docs including invoices from nursery & Nursery Manager signed form. Then got notification that my Childcare application was being audited. Student Finance sent a letter explaining that they would contact the nursery direct to fill in a further form.
Which never arrived. I got a another letter from Student Finance. Nursery never had a thing. So I called SF to resend form. They sent me the incorrect forms. I called again. They promised to resend correct form to nursery. Spoke to nursery manager again...this too has yet to materialise.
Fast fwd to yesterday....received a letter from them telling me I was no longer entitled to the Childcare Grant along with a demand from Student Loans Co for £3500!!!
Put rather a damper on my weekend.. Immediately called Student Finance - Audit dept closed for weekend. So I spoke to a SLC operator who had no clue what I was talking about as he has never heard of this mysterious form either.
So I will be calling again Monday to the Audit dept direct to find out what the hell is going on. I am beside myself with worry. Any tips or advice? Has anyone else had this happen?
For info too...my son's nursery has never received anything from them (apart from original form I got them to sign). They are efficient and professional and I do not believe it is them at fault.
What do I do? Help!!

good luck - they're are so !!!!!....
i can't wait to have to fill in the forms this year so they can loose all sorts of pieces of identification again.
Stashbuster - 2014 98/100 - 2015 175/200 - 2016 501 / 500 2017 - 200 / 500 2018 3 / 500

are the forms you are referring to the CCG1s and CCG2s? you can download them off the direct.gov website to fill in yourself if they keep sending you the wrong ones. sounds to me like they have stopped your entitlement as they have not recieved confirmation of the costs x0

Ah! Yes you'd think so. But no. My application was selected for audit which is were the problems have begun.
I had submitted all evidence, confirmation of costs and a signed form from my son's nursery. All accepted and fine.
Until Student Finance selected me for audit and were supposed to send a 1 page form direct to the nursery for signature. This has gone AWOL and now they're saying my childcare costs are to be recovered (despite having provided ample evidence to the contrary).
It's utterly ridiculous and having spoken to them again today, I am not exactly brimming with confidence that they will sort it. I am completely powerless to do anything. Until the form is filled in by the nursery and sent back they will not look at my case again. This is the form that should have been sent 4 times now and seems to mysteriously vanish between SF and the nursery!!
At a complete loss as to what I can do. They won't send it to me to take to the nursery as it's in breach of audit rules or something. I am tearing my hair out!!0 -
ask the nursery to send it special delivery - when I first submitted my application student finance repeatedly claimed not to have recieved it, but it mysteriously appeared in their systems once I gave them the tracking number. they really are useless, last year I gave them estimated figures for childcare and exact figures, both exactly the same to the penny and confirmed by the nursery and then they recalculated my award and took £1000 off me in one go in this years payments.0
