Are Reevoo ratings on Tesco.com dodgy??

 Something I've noticed before that I thought might be a glitch but hasn't changed...has anyone ever clicked on a Reevoo rating next to a product on Tesco.com and got no review to read? I have many times. This time I was looking at a bread bin. When you click on the rating (which was 9/10 I believe), the url showing at the bottom of the page ends in =false. Not sure why this is...
Anyway, I wanted to know more about this product so I looked on Reevoo, thinking it might be a faulty link. When I searched for the item (a Brabantia one so I thought there may be at least a few) there were no reviews. So where does the rating come from?
I'm clueless...so I've emailed Tesco to find out.

Anybody else come across this? If these ratings aren't legitimate, is this an issue for trading standards??

Comments/experiences please?

I think sometimes people get the opportunity to give an x/10 rating anr, separately, the option to write a review.

Obviously there are more people who are prepared to take a couple of seconds to give marks out of ten that will write a full review.

What always annoys me about a lot of sites like this is that they generate the 'read reviews' link even when there are no reviews so everyone who wants a review wastes their time by clicking on what is, effectively, a dead link.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.

Having '=false' in a URL is a reflection of the way the data is collated to create the URL, and bears no relation to the actual status of the reviews. My guess would be that the previous poster has it correctly - the customer is given the chance to mark the product with stars out of ten and add a text review if they want to.

When I bought an external hard drive from Tesco.com, I was invited to review it on Reevoo, which I did. I've even been asked questions which I've answered.

    No great mystery.

The url translates something like this....

Get the reviews from the Revoo site where:

    The retailer = TSC (Tesco)

    AND

the SKU = NNNNNNNNNN (stock keeping unit or barcode)

    AND

Stars = false - false is a computer way of saying zero or negative.

If you set starts to true to get star ratings such as 5(*****)

Paste the following in to your browser:

    http://mark.reevoo.com/reevoomark/en-GB/product?retailer=TSC&sku=70106800&stars=false

    Then this one

    http://mark.reevoo.com/reevoomark/en-GB/product?retailer=TSC&sku=70106800&stars=true

    and see the difference.

Nothing to see here. Move along nicely. :rotfl:
