Is there a way of bookmarking a thread here

Instead of trawling through pages or using the forum search, which again comes up with umpteen pages, is there another way I can find old threads and keep them for reference..

I'm trying to find out about the Monmouth Building Society thread which had lots of replies and advice but am struggling.

Many thanks.

Yes, you can subscribe to certain threads.
If you look at your 1st post on this thread, in the green banner above your name, it says 'Thread 'Tools'.
Click on that, and then 'Subscribe to this thread'.

Then, whenever you want to get back to the thread, you just go to 'User CP' and you'll be able to see your subscribed threads.

    Hope this helps!
  • And the search function allows you to search the Forum so you should find the thread you want quite easily ...
  • Many thanks for both replies, however I need to find the thread now as I never replied to it , just read the posts.

    Off to search forum again.

Don't know if you have managed to find it yet, but was this the thread you were trying to locate:

Along with the MSE search facility, I also use Google to search threads on here, sometimes coming up with better results than the MSE search box.

Most, if not all, web browsers have an add bookmark (or add to favourites) facility, surely that will do the job?

May I ask another question about mechanics - I know how to quote from a single posting as thats obvious, but how do you do multiple quotes - Dunstan always seems a master at that but I havent discovered how to do it.....

Instead of using the simple 'Quote' button below the post (the one containing 4 raindrops :D), use the one just to the right of it (the 'Multi-quote' button, with the pink and orange balloons).
This allows you to select up to 3 posts that you can quote in your post.
  • Many thanks to Ifts, that was the post I was searching for.:T

I could remember one or two of the contributors names but they are such frequent posters that again, it would have taken me forever to find the right thread.

I'd tried searching Monmouth instead of Monmouthshire, perhaps that's why I couldn't find it.

I'll have to bookmark this thread on how to bookmark a thread:rotfl:
  • Hi,

if you are using Firefox, you can bookmark a page by clicking on the star at the right hand end of address bar, star will change to gold.

If you click on quick links, you will find threads that you have subscribed to.
