Parking ticket, now selling the car

Hello all,
I got a parking ticket from UKCPS in December and under the advice given I've ignored the fine and all correspondence. Now I'm selling the car to a garage for a part exchange.
What would your advice be on how to handle this? I'm tempted to tell the garage to direct all letters to me if they receive any, but I'm worried that'll affect the sale.
What should I do?

If they have already written to you then it is unlikely they will write to anyone else about the issue. I don't see any need to mention it to the garage."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Say nothing. If at any point in the future UKCPS send something to the garage they will merely refer it back to you, at which point you carry on ignoring.0

Thank you, that's eased my worries. Tbh not telling the garage was my gut reaction, but I wasn't sure. I will continue to ignore :-)0

Any alleged contract is between the driver (presumably you) and UKPCS, and nothing to do with the car. UKPCS don't have a lien on the car, as there is no debt. Therefore it's nothing to do with who you may sell the car to.0

If the car is more than a few years old then they will probably push it straight into an auction anyway. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

As usual when dealing with UKCPS, be very wary of any private messages you might receive. It could be that company on a "fishing" expedition. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Can't really understand your problem here. They've already wasted £2.50 getting your details from DVLA- they are not going to go down that route again, and DVLA won't update what it has given them, so the garage will never come into the picture.
Keep ignoring buddy not long now before they give up!0 -
They have got your details from the DVLA, it's very unlikely they will pay out £2.50 again for details from the DVLA for the new owner, because what would the point in that be?0
