Have received similar text messages on my mobile.

They're the spawn of the devil!

I know many of these companies are foreign based, but government should look into what can be done.

Indeed. May they get the clap and die while they remain at a fair distance from the OP.

They are only trying to get back the money they paid for your details from the company whom sold it to them.

Or they are phishing to get any hooks.
  • BT must surely be able to trace the callers.. i mean they pass on dets of call to their carrier, so they get billed, right?

BT are one of the worst for cold calling. Despite being on TPS, ex directory and telling them never to call, I regularly get BT sales call trying to sell me their package.

It's quite simple. "Shut them down or no more Foreign Aid".

So you're annoyed because they hang up on you?? Why on earth are you bothering to say 'It's not me, it's my son'? Do you think he wants to talk to them? Why not just say 'Take this number off your list', or walk away without speaking, or block the number (if it's available), or get TrueCall, or any one of the other ways of dealing with cold-callers.

Your post seems really weird! It's like you're annoyed they're speaking to you, not your son, when in reality it's just annoying that twats like this call at all!
