Do I keep my No Claims Discount?
I renewed my car insurance in December, and currently have 8 yrs NCD. The car is due to go in for an MOT in a couple of weeks, and I'm considering the worst case scenario that it may not be cost effective to have all the work done, in which case I will manage without a car for up to a year to put me in a better financial position to buy a decent car.
If I do this, do I retain my NCD? If so, for how long? And if so, how do I prove my NCD, as my proof from my last insurer, showing 8 yrs NCD, was sent to my new insurer, who I changed over to in December?

Last insurer will send you a letter, ask for it asap. Lifespan of NCB varies, 2 years is common, but can be as many as 4, ask your current insurer.0
