Think I will try the file option first though if I can find someone with one.

I was sort of assuming that you would be buying one. I would not think that too many people would own a genuine Dreadnought, unless like me, they had worked somewhere like a metalwork shop.

There are lots of ways, but given the outside temperature you are likely to waste more energy while fitting at the moment than it will save.

Personally I would look past the file and saw collection and use the dremel as it could easily be done in seconds without taking the gloves off.

Measure twice and cut once, naturally.
