For the theory test you need a photocard and counter part licence, ive got the photocard only and the test is very soon so would i be able to take the test still?

No so bloody well get it sorted. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

You need to have both parts - the examiner checks them before you go off out on your test.0

Why don't you have the paper counter part?
I'd reccomend ringing the DVLA to order a new one, not sure how long it would take though and it may cost you up to £38. Get it done soon though otherwise you'll loose the money from your theory test too!0 -
Im not sure if it would be the same but I forgot both my photocard and counterpart for my driving test (practicle). All you have to do is get your instructor to sign a form saying that you are who you say you are.
Lucky I was allowed to take the test because I passed.
Good luck!0 -
I forgot my counterpart when I took my theory. I was still able to take the test, but I think I had to sign a form (it was over 4 years ago now).
Basically, get hold of a new counterpart because you need this anyway, but if you can't get hold of one before the theory then just say you forgot it.0 -
I wouldn't take the risk of just saying you forgot it. Braken you forgot both parts and they let you take your test?! Surely that can't be right. They would need to know that you had a provisional and your instructor could lie.0

My girlfriend works at a theory test centre. She says you can do it without the counterpart, you have to fill in a form. Though apparently the people at the desk won't be happy as it's an unnecessary hassle.
She also said you should get it sorted ASAP and that it'll cost you £19.0 -
Tell DVLA you are changing address. For a week or two use someone elses address. That way you will get your license free. Then just chage address to your normal address. You will be quids in!0

Unfortunately I recall that you have to fill in the counterpart for the change of address. You will have to go with the form for if you've lost your licence I would think. I would get onto this and pay the appropriate fee.
I would also phone the appropriate test centre up and ask their advice if they will accept one or none for the actual test.Indecision is the key to flexibility

Thanks for the advice even though half of you lot were wrong!
I did go to the theory test and they made me sign a form and write myname on it thats all. They asked if I had lost it or just couldnt find it and I said I lost it, they still let me go ahead and do the test.
By the way I really forgot about the test date till 2 days before the theory exam, I only revised the day before for about 2-3 hours as it was Valentines day and was out! I still passed so im chuffed!
I got 32/35 for theory and 54/75 for hazard perception test. Luckily I did do last minute revision because all the question I revised came up.
Going to need to order my counter part license again as I might be taking my practical very soon.
Ive done 5 lessons and havnt driven before the 5 lessons, looking to take another 5 maximum and take my test.
How many lessons did it take everyone else on here? I dont believe in the average 30+ lesson a rule, Ithin it varies depending on how much you drive.
Thanks again for the advice! Went on a bit there.
Sorry avbout sp its my temporary laptop im using:o0
