How long after an interview should you hear something?

I had that with one company, went for an interview on a Tuesday (after they had changed the date and an agency had also called me about the job!) they were interviewing more people on the Friday and would let know early the following week. Two weeks later I had not heard anything so I requested feedback. I think that two weeks is appropriate enough if they have not given you feedback.

For a company not to let you know after having attended an interview is just ignorant on their part.
  • In my experience. If you are successful, you get a call immiediately.

Not necessarily, I've had roles that I have been convinced that I hadn't got them and a couple of weeks later got offered the role. Can be someone is off work for some reason.

Or they had given the advertised job to someone else who has since left because the job was 'not as advertised'.

This happened to me - I left after 5 days - a truly awful company.

depends if they have seen everyone. I went to one interview where I was the 1st person he had seen and then told me he hadn't read the other 60 CV's yet and I would have to wait 3 weeks for him to interview the others. It then took me 2 emails to this blokes office only to be told 'I was just about to email you'.

If I was an absolute no which he knew when he saw me he could have just said so instead of letting me wait 3+ weeks.

That's what I used to think, then looking back last decade I had two applications where I didn't get a response for months - as they'd taken on someone else who didn't stay in the job at two different places. I didn't twig at the time, but from now on I'd give serious thought before being 2nd choice for any job, however desperate I was.

You will learn to forget about any application and move on, the more you do. When charities treat me like that, I just resolve not to donate end of story, why help keep someone else in a job that won't even bother emailing you back...

Its really !!!!!! me of as the interview went so well, they guy acted like a mate. The store isn't opened yet so don't have a contact number.

I had an interview like that where the guy was all matey and jokey and I thought I had a shot. When I didn't get the job I realised I wouldn't want to work for someone so unprofessional anyway. Remember it's not that there is anything wrong with you, they will just have had a lot of applicants for the job. Don't give up, you'll find something.
  • u can wait for a few dayzz because its really important to get the right kind of job according to your qualification.you can just call them up.

Is it not a good thing to be matey and jokey though. Puts you at ease.
