gas prices

I have been paying £33 per month direct debit for gas and £44.50 for electricity to Npower.
I have just received my latest gas bill(estimated - why don't they read the meter more often?) and they are now asking for £59 a month to cover my gas bill!
When are their prices coming down?

Gas prices will come down in the Spring when we all turn our heating off, of course. LOL

Read you meter yourself and check that their estimate is correct, it may not be.

Phone them up, I did, gave them the actual reading and asked them not to change the DD amount as it would even it self out in the summer when we don't use the central heating. They agreed. I guess they don't like to be carrying a debit balance at effectively 0% interest for the consumer. They would prefer to be holding a credit balance which they don't have to pay us interest on!
