Parking Ticket paid but keep getting Demands

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, forgive me if it's wrong!

I parked in the station car park at Whitby at 7.00am in the morning, and not realising that parking charges applied I left the car for 5 minutes and got a parking ticket. I admit it was my fault and I should have checked.
As soon as I got home I paid the ticket online and thought that was the end of it.
Since then I have recieved at least 3 final demand letters, tha last one being yesterday and today a letter arrived from a debt recovery service.
I've rung the company up several timed (LDK Security) and after having to send proof of payment been assured that the matter was closed.

Can anyone advise at to what my next course of action can be?

Er ??????????? Ignore them ? After all what can they do if you don't actually owe them anything ?

Do precisely nothing. That means don't reply, don't call them and don't be tempted to try and "set the record straight" and don't even dream of paying them for a second time. Ignore them.

And the reason for that advice?

LDK Security are a reasonably well known, Milton Keynes-based private parking company (PPC). They have absolutely no authority whatsoever to enforce any penalty upon you or anyone else. Their business model is the same as most other PPC's and that involves them making their (huge) profit from what appears to have been your error. All too often arbitrary private car park rules are designed to set tripwires that are almost impossible to avoid and are enforced in such a way as to mimic real authority.

You have broken no law and PPC's exist like Venus Fly Traps simply to lure motorists into their car parks and extract money from them.

Make sure you don't get caught again and warn all of your friends. If ever they get an impressive looking demand for money from a private company they should treat it for what it actually is. An unenforceable, speculative invoice.

If I was to invoice you for £80 for walking within 3 feet of me in a shopping centre you'd throw the invoice in the bin. The demand you had differs not one jot. Shame you paid it, but hey, that's life and hopefully you'll not get caught again.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Another example of what happens if you're daft enough to pay these clowns.

Your details go on a noticeboard headed 'Mugs' and further letters are sent in an attempt to extract more money from you since you fell for it the first time.

Write one letter saying you owe nothing and that they must stop threatening you forthwith. If you get any further correspondence after that: Go to your local County Court. Issue a claim against them for damages for harassment. Ask me how, as I have done it. With any luck you should get back what you paid them and then some.

Once the paradises have got their teeth into a payer, they will try and shake them for all they are worth to get a little bit money out of them.

OMG the OP paid a scam fake PCN without checking online first. OMG.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sadly one of the 35% which pay up straight away, and I bet if LDK weren't so greedy to want more the OP probably wouldn't be any of the wiser to the scam.
