    What about the "Best Before"? i've read the link you posted earlier but this is margerine and therefor contains dairy product?

    If the product is truly margarine it will contain no dairy.

    If it's best before no law has been broken. Sometimes isolated things like this happen.

    With regards to your earlier comment about Tesco's making enough money to make sure that doesn't happen well they have about 10% profit margin I believe which is typical for retail but not huge. To staff a retail store to a level where things are checked 1000's of times over to make sure nothing ever goes wrong or nothings ever missed would end up running at a loss therefore you wouldn't even bother starting the business.

    Most have daily/weekly checks of products but that work will have to be done quickly so sometimes things may be missed.

    Personally I think you should just take it back and you'll get a replacement/refund. If you plan to create merry hell as you put it your just doing it for the sake of it really. You'll just get yourself stressed, probably abuse someone who's fault it actually wasn't and waste your own time.
