Holiday house exchange? Florida Ireland?

Hi, I just wondered if anyone could give me any advice/opinion. I'm looking to take the family on holiday to Florida in the next couple of years (if finances allowed). My fil has recently built a large 4 bedroom house in Ireland which is often empty. He said that we coupld use this house for a [possible house swop with someone in Florida. He says this is what they intend to do when they go back to America.

I've never heard of anything like this so just wondered if anyone had any experience of this or could point me in the right direction of somewhere that might.

See if you can watch last weeks episode of Superscrimpers on catchup. They showed a family how to have a holiday for £50 and that's how they did it. They recommended a few websites to use and gave tips.

I would think Ireland would be a good swap for America generally. They are very nostalgic about it and lots of them have connections there.

Several years ago some friends used a Christian house swap site, I think this one http://www.christianhomeexchange.com/HomeExchangeListings.cfm
All went well and they got a good swap to USA.
