Santander & Co-Op - when did you receive your switching bonus?

Family members have gone through the switching process for Santander and Co Op (with co-op it was the £100 (yes, £100, not the £200) offer through Britannia).

They're asking me when this gets paid up. All appropriate standing orders & direct debits have been switched over.

I'm not wanting anyone to say "1st December" as that's pretty useless info.

"10 weeks after the switch" on the other hand, or "15 weeks after i applied for the account" .... this is not useless info

Also, did you have to fight (phone call, visit branch etc) to get your switching bonus, or was it paid up without hassle? (i only ask as i remember having to chase my bonus with First Direct (i do realise i've just slagged off everyones favourite bank & i now may get no response as people protest! lol)).

I chased them down for 2 months after the 3 months of DD's had left my account and my account had been credited with 1k per month. Eventually they told me I wasn't entitled to it as I turned down the offer of an overdraft when I opened the account, bunch of shishsters :mad:

So good luck in getting it from Santander, it seems they go out of their way not to pay it.

Oh yeah that reminds me. I actually had issue with Santander as well as First Direct. They came out with some crap excuse, so i said that's perfectly fine, i'm taking my money & going elsewhere.

Next day, guess what was waiting for me in my account. Yes, £100. My gf had no such problem though.

I also wasn't aware that accepting an overdraft was part of the £100 T&Cs.

No I couldn't find it anywhere either, so I shifted my hard earned cash out too

The problem with so many banks offering Incentives to join... if they lose one they know they'll gain at least two! They're not really that bothered unless you have HUGE sums of money to invest with them.

Might be "useless info", going on your post, but it's the only answer you're getting from me . Account opened 18 July, incentive paid 27 September, so work out the weeks' for yourself .

I switched to Santander in November hoping for the £200 bonus -- done all they asked for, and not a word. I wrote them a letter two weeks ago, no reply yet. Has ANYBODY got their bonus from them, an dif so, how was it paid? I was not asked if I wanted an overdraft so I'm a little concerned.

Opened Santander account 18 July and the £100 (not £200) incentive was paid into the account end of September.

Thanks. It's £200 if your other account is a mortgage account. So you didn't have wait the three months!

Hey, I just checked online -- they paid it in end of December. Totally missed it!
