Haven't a clue but the last time they !!!!!!t arond with the rules they really stuffed the people carrying abilities of the Defender...:mad:0

Don't these new rules usually only apply to new vehicles? They can't just turn around and say "Oh, sorry, you're now only allowed to carry 4 people in your Renault Avantine". Just the same as they can't suddenly demand that you fit seatbelts to your Model T Ford.0

What are these new rules? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Rules for new licence holders? 1997? changes limited passenger carrying ability.
Or something new?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If it's licence holders then they only apply to people who passed their test after the rules took effect. Excluding DVLA !!!! ups when exchanging paper licences for photocards.0

Discussion came about when some one I know was looking for a 7 seater to take children to school etc. She was told to be careful and buy something that will comply to the new DVLA rules.
I am not sure what these rules are, emission. safety or what. I assumed that if there is any thing then someone on the forum here will know.

Hopefully it's a rule banning them from the end of my road every morning. It's carnage, women abandoning them all over the pavements, parking on double yellows, blocking driveways, pulling out witth out indicating or looking just to drop off a load fat ugly spoilt brats......0

Why don't you ring up the DVLA and ask them if you're so worried about it? Or even ask the person who started the rumour in the first place?0 -

Yep, i didn't think they did retrospective rules either until I discovered that to take our perfectly legal van inside the M25 this year we either have to fit a £2k filter or pay £100 a day0
